A large Chinese Longquan celadon glazed & decorated incense tripod censer.

Ming Dynasty, 16th century.

The large rounded bowl decorated in lotus stems and flowerheads, sits atop 3 feet moulded as lion masks. The recessed neck, also decorated, leads to a everted rim.

25cm diameter

Condition: Old staple repair to stabilize two cracks - one from the rim to the centre and the second laterally from the first. Both with chipping to the glaze. Another crack from the rim reinforced with a single staple. Further short hairlines and heavy crazing. The usual firing imperfection, including on large spot of slag next to one of the repairs. Please make sure to check the photos carefully.
