A Small Royal Copenhagen Porcelain Bullet-Shaped Teapot & Cover, late 18th century

A finely decorated small Royal Copenhagen porcelain teapot of rounded bullet form, painted in polychrome enamels with two charming pastoral scenes. One side depicts a seated figure fishing beside a river, while the reverse shows a rustic figure resting beneath a tree. Each vignette is enclosed within a gilt oval reserve and flanked by cornucopias overflowing with colourful flowers.

The body is further enriched with delicate floral sprigs, purple ribbon ornament and extensive gilded decoration, including the spout, handle, foot rim and border of the cover. The domed cover is surmounted by a naturalistically modelled flower knop with gilt stem and leaves.

Marked to the underside with the blue painted three-wave mark of the Royal Copenhagen factory.

Condition: Overall in very good condition, with only tiny losses to the flower knop and light age-related wear to the gilding.
