An intact proto or near stoneware beaker from the early 14th century. Made in Siegburg prior to the production of true stoneware in Europe. Few variations in form exist for these early jugs, especially when compared to the later explosion of stoneware manufacturing. Durability of these lower fired vessels is also considerably less, helping to contribute to the scarcity now.

Condition: Rare to find in complete and unrestored condition, despite its faults. A couple of smaller chips around the rim. Crack through the foot, up the side and in the base - shown in the last photo. Further surface wear and marks.
