A salt glazed German stoneware jug made in Raeren 1500-1525. A good depth of colour in the pale glaze which gives the jugs a nice aged appearance. This is a shape typical to Raeren, one which you might see with a 'pointy nosed' face.

Condition: Firing splits to the underside. Chips to the mouth. A section of the belly missing which has been filled in an colour matched - one edge which has a crack that follows through both up and down. Other signs of surface wear and imperfections.
